California Grapevine Nursery (CGN) is a dormant material nursery. Therefore, we focus all our energy on producing the highest quality dormant rootings and grafted vines. At the time of delivery, our customers receive a one-year-old No. 1 quality vine. All of our rootings and grafted vines are field-grown in our outdoor nursery for one season to achieve a large, healthy root system for a strong start in your vineyard.

Certified by the State of California Department of Food and Agriculture, CGN offers 21 varieties of certified rootstocks and numerous scion varieties and selections for use in our custom grafting program. For planting in our increase blocks, CGN obtains certified grape rootstock material from the Foundation Plant Material Service.

Although California Grapevine Nursery's product base has largely been dormant rootstock, for the past several seasons we have been placing more emphasis on enhancing and improving our custom grafted vine program. We believe that in the future, customers will become increasingly interested in planting a dormant grafted vine. The hearty graft union and strong root system of a field-grown one-year-old vine make it a superior plant product.

CGN continues to increase efficiency and the quality of our product. Our search of innovative techniques and procedures makes us strong supporters of research in the industry. CGN is active in many local and statewide grower-related organizations. We believe it is in the best interest of all involved-nurserymen, customer, and final consumer to be proactive in the development and improvement of plant material made available to growers.
